The Bathukamma celebrations commenced with great enthusiasm at Sirvi Ground, organized by the Aliyabad Municipality. Former ZP Chairperson Patnam Sunitha Mahender Reddy and Municipal Chairperson Kantham Shireesha Krishnareddy jointly inaugurated the event.
Patnam Sunitha Mahender Reddy stated that the Bathukamma festival stands as a symbol of Telangana's rich culture and traditions. She added that it reflects the self-respect and unity of women in Telangana.
She highlighted that worshipping nature by arranging Bathukammas with colorful flowers and celebrating with traditional songs and dances is a unique aspect of Telangana. She urged everyone to preserve these age-old traditions for future generations.
A large number of women from the Aliyabad area participated in the festivities. They meticulously arranged beautiful Bathukammas, sang traditional songs, and engaged in Kolatam dances and other joyful activities.
