Andhra Pradesh is set to launch a pilot project to construct 177 houses using 3D concrete printing technology in the Tenali Assembly constituency. This initiative will coincide with the foundation-laying program for three lakh houses sanctioned to the State under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) 2.0.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will launch the pilot project on Sunday at Burripalem village in Guntur district.
According to Telugu360, the 177 houses will be constructed at Burripalem and Obulanayudupalem villages at an estimated cost of ₹14 crore.
The State government stated that this initiative is being introduced as a pilot project involving the Union Ministry of Rural Development, CSIR-Central Building Research Institute (CBRI), Roorkee, and the Andhra Pradesh government.
The government also mentioned that 3D concrete printing could significantly reduce construction time, labor requirements, and construction waste while maintaining quality and durability.
This pilot project will test the technology’s potential for use in large-scale affordable housing programs, offering a glimpse into faster and more efficient housing solutions for residents in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in the future.
