Andhra Pradesh is taking significant steps towards its goal of becoming a shipbuilding hub. Three ports in the state are set to establish shipbuilding and repair centers.

Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited and Goa Shipyard Limited will invest Rs. 23,000 crores to set up shipbuilding and repair centers at Dugarajapatnam and Machilipatnam Gateway Ports.

These centers are projected to achieve an annual capacity of 2.9 million gross tons, providing a significant boost to the state's economy.

A total of 5,520 acres have been allocated for port-based infrastructure, providing the necessary support for the success of these projects.

This initiative will not only position Andhra Pradesh as a prominent center in the shipbuilding sector but also enhance employment opportunities within the state.
