The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has registered a case concerning alleged irregularities in the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) Group-1 Mains examinations. The case names former APPSC additional secretary PSR Anjaneyulu, a former IPS officer, among others.
The ED’s action follows a criminal case registered by the Suryaraopet police in Vijayawada in April 2025 under IPC Sections 409 (criminal breach of trust), 420 (cheating), 477-A (falsification of accounts) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) read with Section 34.
Investigators alleged that Camsign Media Private Limited conducted manual evaluation of Group-1 Mains answer scripts at a private resort in Guntur rather than through the commission’s established evaluation process.
According to the SIT probe, the answer scripts remained in the custody of the private agency for 84 days. Investigators have further alleged that 66 unqualified persons were engaged as evaluators, and that pre-determined marks were transferred to OMR sheets without adequate oversight or CCTV-based accountability.
Anjaneyulu’s defence has maintained that the decision to undertake manual evaluation was taken collectively and was in compliance with directions issued by the high court.
These allegations have significant implications for job aspirants and the unemployed in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, raising serious questions about the transparency and credibility of public service examinations.
