A woman working as a manager at a gas agency in Bhadrachalam has died by suicide. She was found hanging in her lodge room. The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Palvancha Civil Supplies Department in Kothagudem district.
In a suicide note, she alleged that she was unable to bear harassment from a colleague and three television channel reporters. These allegations have become a topic of discussion in the local community.
The deceased, identified as Lakshminarayana, stated in her suicide note that she was subjected to sexual harassment. Police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.
The note also mentioned that she was pressured to engage in illegal activities at the gas agency. Her family members said this harassment caused her severe mental distress.
A complaint regarding the incident has been filed with the District Collector. Family members are demanding strict action against those responsible for the harassment.
Police have taken possession of the body and sent it for post-mortem examination. The investigation is ongoing.
