The Central Government has approved the construction of modern ropeways at five tourist destinations across Telangana. The Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways gave its approval for these projects.
The Centre responded favorably to the proposals submitted by the state government in Delhi recently. These projects will be implemented under the Parvatmala scheme.
Ropeways are planned for Yadagirigutta, Nagarjunakonda, Ramagiri, Hanuman Hill, and Dichpally. The estimated expenditure for these projects is approximately Rs. 1,230 crores.
Officials stated that the establishment of these ropeways will boost the tourism sector in the state. It will also create new employment opportunities for local residents.
Traveling in cable cars over hills and valleys will offer a unique experience for tourists. This approval will accelerate the process of preparing Detailed Project Reports (DPRs).
Nagarjunakonda, home to the world's largest island museum, is a renowned international Buddhist cultural center. These new ropeways will increase visitor numbers.
