Veda Seethamma alias Seetha Veda, identified as the primary accused in a case involving the collection of substantial funds from the public through chit fund schemes and subsequent non-repayment, was taken into custody by immigration officials on Monday at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport.

Seetha, who resided in HMT Hills, KPHB, is alleged to have gathered crores of rupees under the guise of these schemes before leaving for America without fulfilling her repayment obligations, police said.

Following complaints from affected individuals, the KPHB police station registered a case. A look-out circular had been issued for Seetha due to her departure from the country.

In connection with this same case, KPHB police had previously arrested Ramana Reddy on September 16 and presented him before the court. Seetha's apprehension allows for the continuation of the ongoing investigation.
