The Telangana High Court has delivered a verdict in the CMR paddy diversion case involving Gampa Nagender, former president of the Shiva Paraboil Rice Mill in Rayagiri, Yadadri district, and another miller. The ruling has brought temporary relief to the millers as the court decided in their favor.
According to Andhrajyothy, a petition was filed in the High Court due to pressure from the police. The case also involved partners of the millers.
A case was registered against Gampa Nagender, associated with Shiva Paraboil Rice Mill in Rayagiri, at the Yadadri district center. Another miller was also named in this case.
The Telangana High Court identified a penalty and paddy value totaling 23 crore rupees in Rayagiri, Yadadri district, and registered cases against two individuals.
Andhrajyothy reported on October 9 that the court ruled against arrest in the Yadadri case. This case pertains to the Shiva Paraboil Rice Mill in Yadadri district, owned by Gampa Nagender, former president of the State Rice Millers Association.
This verdict is significant for rice millers in Telangana as it could set a precedent for similar cases in the future. It may also influence paddy procurement and distribution policies within the state.
