Cyberabad Cyber Crime police have arrested four individuals in connection with online fraud cases. The accused allegedly defrauded victims of Rs. 45.77 lakh by promising cashbacks, trading profits, and lottery winnings.
The fraudsters also used schemes involving foreign job offers and puppy sales to lure victims. The four arrested individuals were responsible for providing mule bank accounts used in these scams.
Initially, the cybercriminals enticed victims with small profits to gain their trust. They then encouraged victims to make larger investments.
When victims attempted to withdraw their money, the fraudsters demanded additional fees and charges, extracting substantial amounts from them.
Six cases were registered within the Cyberabad police limits. The arrests were made as part of the ongoing investigation into these online fraud incidents.
Police advise the public to remain vigilant against cyber fraud. They cautioned against clicking on unknown links or sharing personal details with unverified sources.
