Hyderabad's main roads experienced heavy traffic congestion as a large number of residents traveled to their hometowns for the Dasara festival. Roads were filled with RTC buses, private travel vehicles, and personal cars and bikes.

Traffic came to a complete standstill, particularly from Miyapur to the Balanagar Y Junction. Commuters faced difficulties as vehicles moved at a very slow pace.

Many city dwellers embarked on journeys to their native places to celebrate the festival with their families. This movement led to an unexpected increase in vehicle numbers across the city.

The rise in vehicles on major thoroughfares prompted traffic police to implement measures to manage the flow. Despite these efforts, easing the congestion proved challenging.
