The Araku weekly market was bustling with buyers on Friday, ahead of the Dussehra festival. Tribal families arrived in large numbers to purchase essential items for the upcoming celebrations.

Sales of roosters and goats saw a significant surge at the market. There was a high demand for country chickens, goats, and sheep for Dussehra.

Country chickens were priced between Rs. 1200 and Rs. 2000. Goats and sheep were sold for up to Rs. 8000.

With the festive atmosphere, tribal people visited the market with their families to buy the necessary goods.

As non-vegetarian food is a key part of Dussehra celebrations, the purchase of roosters and goats has increased significantly in the Araku region. This has also boosted the local economy.
