The Hyderabad-Vijayawada National Highway experienced an increase in vehicle movement as Dussehra festival holidays commenced. The road became congested with travelers heading to their hometowns starting Saturday evening.
Many people living in Hyderabad, who are from areas like Suryapet, Nalgonda, Kodad, Khammam, Bhadrachalam, and Vijayawada, began their journeys to their native places.
This led to a sudden rise in traffic on the national highway. Commuters faced difficulties as vehicles moved slowly, especially near the town of Choutuppal.
Ongoing road widening works added to the congestion, causing trouble for motorists. Pavan Chandragiri reported this situation on October 17, 2026.
