Senior citizens in Hyderabad are also filing complaints about ganja sales. Sandeep Shandi, Director of the Eagle Force, stated that the toll-free number 1908 received 1193 calls in the past year. Based on these calls, the Eagle Force is conducting decoy operations and maintaining special surveillance to apprehend ganja peddlers.
In one instance, parents informed the 1908 helpline that their son had been addicted to ganja for two years and had not shown any improvement despite their efforts. They provided detailed information about where their son was obtaining the drug. Based on this intelligence, Eagle Force police conducted a decoy operation, leading to the apprehension of the ganja peddlers. The increase in such complaints has prompted the Eagle Force to intensify its operations.
