Eight people were killed and 17 others seriously injured after a minibus overturned and fell into a ditch on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Rajasthan’s Kota early Saturday morning. The incident occurred in the Simliya Police Station area.
The accident took place around 6:30 am when the bus plunged approximately 15 feet into a ditch. Police and rescue officials promptly arrived at the scene after receiving information about the mishap.
Officials stated that the minibus was carrying over 25 passengers and was en route from Bhopal to Khatu Shyam. The injured were transported to a hospital for treatment.
Police suspect that the driver may have dozed off, leading to the tragic incident. Investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the accident.
