Festive travel led to heavy traffic congestion on several key routes, especially the Hyderabad-Vijayawada highway. Vehicles were observed queuing for kilometers near Choutuppal and the Pantangi toll plaza.
Ongoing construction of flyovers, underpasses, and service roads between Choutuppal and Dharmojigudem contributed to the delays. This work slowed vehicle movement considerably on that stretch.
To manage the heavy flow, police redirected vehicles through alternative routes including Lakkaram, Valigonda, and Chityala. These diversion routes also experienced increased traffic volumes.
Traffic also built up on the Hyderabad-Warangal, Hyderabad-Karimnagar, and Hyderabad-Kurnool highways. Long queues were reported at the Gudur, Korlapahad, Duddeda, and Renikunta toll plazas.
Road construction near Balanagar further impeded vehicles traveling towards Jadcherla. Within Hyderabad city, the area around the Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station (MGBS) saw heavy commuter activity.
