Five government employees in Telangana were caught red-handed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) while accepting bribes. These incidents, which occurred on Thursday in various parts of the state, once again highlight the extent of corruption within government offices.

In Hyderabad's Madannapet, an AE, a Keesara DT, a Vemulawada Tahsildar, and a Bhoobharathi operator were arrested by ACB officials. All of them were caught demanding bribes from the public for official services.

ACB officials stated that government employees and officials, who are supposed to provide services to the public, are demanding bribes for every task they perform. This practice causes significant inconvenience to citizens.

In Madannapet, Hyderabad, an individual applied online to replace six old electricity meters in his house with new ones. Officials demanded a bribe to complete this process.

The lack of transparency and accountability in government offices forces ordinary citizens to pay bribes for their work. These arrests underscore the urgent need for corruption-free governance.

The situation where citizens in Telangana have to pay bribes to access government services continues. These arrests indicate that more stringent measures are needed to curb corruption in the state.
