The Telangana Forest Department has warned that legal action will be taken against individuals displaying the Palapitta bird during the upcoming Dasara festival. Officials clarified that catching, caging, or exhibiting the bird under the guise of festival traditions is prohibited.

The Forest Department emphasized that protecting the Palapitta is a collective responsibility as part of broader wildlife conservation efforts. The department urged the public to cooperate in safeguarding the bird.

To prevent the display of Palapitta at pandals during Dasara, the Forest Department has developed special awareness posters. These educational materials have been distributed to the Banjara Hills police.

Pandal organizers are receiving instructions through these posters, advising them to avoid activities such as capturing, caging, or displaying the birds. Officials cautioned that cases would be registered under the law against those who violate these regulations.
