A chargesheet has been filed against the son of former minister Karumuri Nageswara Rao in connection with a liquor transport scam that occurred during the YCP government's tenure. His name has been included in the chargesheet as a key financial beneficiary in this case.

Allegations involve irregularities in the finalization of liquor transport sub-contracts in the erstwhile West Godavari and Krishna districts. The chargesheet states that shares of profits from these contracts were collected.

Sunil, identified as the mastermind behind the sub-contracts, allegedly inflated bills significantly and illegally earned Rs. 24.45 crores through fake invoices. Investigations revealed Sunil's pivotal role in this scheme.

The chargesheet also mentions the illegal transfer of Rs. 16 crores in cash within this scam. These cash transfers serve as evidence of illicit transactions.

This development has become a major topic of discussion in state politics. Questions are being raised about transparency in government policies and contract allocations.

Allegations of irregularities and corruption in the liquor business frequently surface in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. This case draws further attention to the oversight and accountability of government contracts in the state.
