International firms are showing keen interest in making substantial investments in Hyderabad's prominent AIG Hospitals. Novo Holdings, Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund GIC, and Abu Dhabi-based investment firm Axight are in advanced discussions with private equity firm EQT for a potential investment of INR 2,000-2,500 crore.

The proposed transaction would involve a transfer of EQT’s existing investment in the hospital chain, potentially paving the way for AIG Hospitals' further expansion and development.

The proposed stake sale is being led by AIG Hospitals’ two promoters, including Chairman and Managing Director Dr. Duvvur Nageshwar Reddy and Vice Chairman Penmetsa Venkata Subbaraju.

The plan involves a potential 10-12% dilution of their shareholding, with the company reportedly valued at INR 22,000-24,000 crore.

While the transaction remains under discussion and has not been confirmed by the parties involved, it signals a significant development in Telangana's healthcare sector.

These potential investments could provide a substantial boost to the healthcare sector in Hyderabad, helping to expand state-of-the-art medical services and provide enhanced facilities for patients in the region.
