A government school teacher, D Venkateshwar Rao, 45, was found drowned in the Nagarjuna Sagar canal at Tummalapalli village in Penuballi mandal, Khammam district.
Mr. Rao, a resident of Kottakarai village in the mandal, worked as a school assistant (Hindi) at Ganeshpadu village.
According to his family members, he left home on Sunday and did not return until late evening hours.
His family began searching for him and found his motorbike near the canal bank, after which they informed the police.
Police resumed the search on Monday morning, leading to the discovery of his body in the canal.
