HDFC Bank Ltd, India’s largest private lender, announced a net profit of Rs 19,610 crore for the second quarter of FY27. This figure, while a 5.2 percent year-on-year increase, did not meet analysts' expectations.
The bank's net interest income saw a growth of 9.7 percent during the quarter. However, higher provisions and a softer-than-expected net interest income impacted the overall performance.
Despite these factors, the lender reported robust growth in both loans and deposits. Key operating metrics for the quarter, however, came in below what analysts had anticipated.
For the quarter that concluded on September 30, the bank's net profit rose by 5.2 percent to Rs 19,610 crore. This outcome highlights the bank's continued position as a major player in the private lending sector.
