The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted widespread rainfall across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana until October 22. The IMD stated that the northeast monsoon and an upper air cyclonic circulation will continue to bring rains to the southern states.

On Friday, Tirupati Airport was severely waterlogged following heavy rainfall. Some walls within the airport premises also collapsed due to the intense downpour.

A yellow alert has been issued by the meteorological department for several districts in Telangana. Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Suryapet, and Mahabubabad districts are expected to experience thunderstorms and lightning on Saturday.

According to warnings from the Hyderabad Meteorological Centre, gusty winds with speeds of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour are likely during the rainfall in these districts.

The yellow alert will also be applicable to Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, and Medchal-Malkajgiri districts in the coming days, the meteorological department announced.

The India Meteorological Department also anticipates the formation of a low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal towards the end of the month.
