The Telangana High Court has dismissed a divorce petition filed by a Hyderabad NRI. The court did not accept his assertion that his wife and her parents compelled him to reside at his in-laws' house as a 'ghar jamai'.

A division bench, consisting of Justice K Lakshman and Justice K Sujana, upheld the decision of a family court. The High Court noted that the husband's allegations of cruelty lacked credible supporting evidence.

The court observed that minor disagreements within a marriage are not sufficient grounds to dissolve the union. It clarified that the husband's claims in this particular case did not meet the criteria for divorce.

The couple married in 2009 and has a 16-year-old daughter. Despite this, they have been living separately for the past 14 years.

The High Court's ruling affirmed the earlier order from the family court. The man's petition for divorce was ultimately rejected.
