The Andhra Pradesh High Court has ordered a CBI probe into the alleged custodial death of 25-year-old Gade Sai Krishna, who died in custody at Krishnalanka police station in Vijayawada. The court directed the CBI to identify those responsible and initiate prosecution against them.

A division bench pronounced the order on a petition filed by Vijayalakshmi, Sai Krishna's mother. She had expressed a lack of faith in the police investigation and requested that the case be handed over to the CBI.

The court directed the CBI to immediately register a case, identify those responsible, and initiate prosecution. The High Court also directed that the circumstances leading to Sai Krishna’s death be examined.

In addition, the High Court awarded Rs 25 lakh compensation to the victim's mother. This compensation aims to provide some relief to Sai Krishna's family.

This ruling is significant for readers in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana as it addresses concerns about custodial deaths and emphasizes the need for transparent investigations and accountability for officials involved in such incidents.
