Double decker bus services in Hyderabad have been halted for the past month. These buses, which were a special attraction for the city, are currently confined to the depot.

This situation is causing disappointment for tourists visiting the city during the festival holidays. Visitors are facing difficulties finding alternative transportation around the Hussain Sagar area.

Previously, HMDA purchased six electric double decker buses at an approximate cost of Rs. 13 crore. These services were launched with much fanfare.

However, after the Tourism Department took over maintenance responsibilities from HMDA, it has failed to operate them. As a result, the services have been suspended.
