Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana, is grappling with a severe water crisis. Even before the peak of summer, many areas in the city are experiencing disruptions in water supply.

The lack of rainfall and increasing heat have forced numerous localities to rely on water tankers. Groundwater levels in borewells have also dropped.

Officials state that the El Niño effect and drought-like conditions are causing groundwater tables to fall rapidly. This is a primary reason for the water woes in the city.

While water scarcity is a nationwide issue, the situation in Hyderabad is concerning. The problem is expected to intensify further as the summer progresses.

Currently, temporary measures are being implemented to improve water supply in the city. However, permanent solutions for replenishing groundwater levels are still needed.
