Hyderabad's office space leasing recorded a 50 percent increase between January and September 2026. A total of 13.1 million square feet of office space was leased during this period. Real estate consultant Knight Frank India released these figures on Monday.
In contrast, Bengaluru experienced a 26 percent drop in its office leasing activity over the same nine-month span. Across eight major cities in India, the total office leasing volume remained steady at 66.7 million square feet, Knight Frank India reported.
Shishir Baijal, International Partner, Chairman, and Managing Director of Knight Frank India, stated that India's office market continues to expand. This growth occurs even with global businesses facing an uncertain geopolitical environment. He noted a change in the type of demand.
Baijal explained that Global Capability Centres (GCCs) are quickly expanding their presence. Flex operators and businesses focused on India are also contributing to the market's activity, he added.
This trend shows India's increasing importance in global capability development and domestic business growth, Baijal said. Hyderabad's performance is a key element of this broader market movement.
