Hyderabad Traffic Police announced traffic diversions and restrictions from 3 pm on October 21 to 6 am on October 24, 2026, in connection with the immersion of Durga Matha idols in the city.

Idols will be immersed at People’s Plaza and Garden Point, and at the baby immersion ponds at Jalavihar and Sanjeevaiah Park as part of the festival schedule.

The restrictions will affect several major junctions and roads around Khairatabad, Necklace Road, Tank Bund, Secretariat Junction and Nallagutta.

Commuters have been advised to avoid the affected routes wherever possible and to use alternative roads to reach their destinations.

In a traffic advisory issued by Hyderabad Traffic Police, diversions will be implemented based on local traffic conditions and congestion levels.

Immersion of Durga Matha idols at People’s Plaza, Garden Point, Jalavihar and Sanjeevaiah Park is the reason Hyderabad Traffic Police gave for the traffic plan on multiple major junctions and roads from 3 pm on October 21.

People’s Plaza and Garden Point are named as main immersion points, while Jalavihar and Sanjeevaiah Park host the baby immersion ponds used during the same period in Hyderabad.

Several major junctions and roads in the Khairatabad, Necklace Road and Tank Bund areas will sit inside the restricted zone, along with routes near Secretariat Junction and Nallagutta.

Hyderabad Traffic Police said in the advisory that diversion layouts would follow local traffic conditions and congestion levels as officers manage roads during the immersion days.

Drivers were asked to plan trips on alternative roads and to avoid the affected routes wherever possible until the restriction period ends at 6 am on October 24.

The order covers the window from the afternoon of October 21 through the early morning of October 24, 2026, while immersion activity is carried out at the listed venues across Hyderabad.

Hyderabad Traffic Police did not list fixed alternate routes in the advisory; they said they would route traffic around bottlenecks as conditions and congestion change near the immersion sites and the named junctions.
