A senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer has lodged a complaint with the Banjara Hills police, alleging that a matrimony firm defrauded him of ₹2 lakh. The officer stated the firm failed to find a suitable bride for his son as promised.

Puneet Kumar Goel, a 1991-batch IAS officer, filed the complaint, leading the police to register a case and initiate an investigation. The complaint names Seven Vows, a matrimony firm.

According to the complaint, Goel approached the firm in July 2024 to find a suitable match for his son. The firm's representatives assured him of suitable marriage proposals and initially collected ₹1 lakh.

The firm shared details of a few prospective matches at first but later stopped responding to his inquiries. Despite the lack of communication, Goel paid an additional ₹1 lakh in April 2026 to renew the contract.

With no progress after paying a total of ₹2 lakh, Goel approached the police. Banjara Hills police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.
