Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) vigilance officials seized 12 motors illegally connected to drinking water supply pipelines in the Kukatpally zone. These unauthorized connections were discovered during special inspections conducted on Thursday (October 15).

HMWSSB vigilance officials carried out extensive inspections across the Kukatpally area. They identified and confiscated motors that were being used to illegally draw water from the drinking water pipelines.

Officials stated that these illegal connections disrupt the proper water supply for legitimate consumers. Unauthorized water extraction leads to reduced water pressure and creates shortages in other areas.

Experts warn that illegally connecting motors to drinking water pipelines can also compromise water quality. This poses a potential health risk to the public.

HMWSSB officials have made it clear that they will continue such inspections in the future and will take strict action against illegal connections. They warned that legal action would be taken against those involved in such illicit activities.

Illegal water usage in densely populated areas like Kukatpally in Hyderabad causes significant inconvenience to ordinary citizens. These actions will help ensure a better and uninterrupted water supply for the city's residents.
