Farmers in Jangampet, within the Jinnaram Municipality, have initiated a new approach to agriculture. On October 17, 2026, they began using drones to spray fertilizers and pesticides on their paddy crops.
Farmers report that this modern method allows for the completion of spraying an acre of land in just five to ten minutes. This saves considerable time for the farmers.
The cost of using drones for spraying is approximately Rs. 500 to Rs. 1,000 per acre, according to farmers. They also noted that this technology helps alleviate the issue of labor shortages.
Compared to traditional methods, drone usage reduces farmers' direct exposure to chemicals. Farmers state that spraying pesticides on crops becomes a much simpler task with drone assistance.
