Jio Platforms Limited (JPL) is scheduled to launch its initial public offering (IPO) on October 21. The IPO aims to raise Rs 30,213 crore, drawing attention from investors.
Brokerage reports from GEPL Capital, Ventura Securities, and SMC Global identify several growth engines for JPL. These include upgrades from 2G to 4G/5G, expansion in home broadband, enterprise cloud and AI solutions, and the sale of Jio's technology to international telecom operators.
The company has seen its average revenue per user (ARPU) increase from Rs 181.7 in FY24 to Rs 215.6 in Q1FY27. Monthly data usage per customer has also climbed to 43.7 GB.
Home broadband is another growth driver, as noted by GEPL. JioFiber and JioAirFiber are positioned to build on India's low fixed broadband penetration, which is projected to reach around 46% by FY31.
SMC Global adds that the expansion of JioAirFiber, a fixed wireless access service, is expected to support broadband adoption in locations where conventional services are limited. This could broaden Jio's customer base.
Analysts describe JPL as both a technology platform and a telecom operator, indicating its diverse growth potential beyond traditional connectivity services.
