Union Minister for Coal and Mines, Kishan Reddy, has directed officials to ensure coal supply to the Yadadri thermal power plant. He made this announcement while speaking to reporters at the BJP national office in Hyderabad on Friday.

Reddy stated that he issued directives to officials regarding coal supply to Yadadri following a request from Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. He noted that coal supply to the Yadadri thermal power plant had stopped due to reduced production at Singareni.

The Union Minister instructed Coal India to supply coal to prevent a national power shortage. He emphasized that as a son of Telangana and a Union Minister, he ordered the coal supply to the Yadadri plant in the national interest.

Reddy's directives come amidst mutual accusations between the Telangana state and the central government regarding power shortages. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had submitted a representation to the Centre concerning the halted coal supply.

Officials indicated that the reduced coal production at Singareni led to the cessation of coal supply to the Yadadri thermal power plant, causing a power deficit in the state.

With the Union Minister's orders, coal supply to the Yadadri thermal plant will begin soon. This measure aims to alleviate the power shortage in the state.
