Police in Chennai arrested a lawyer on October 18 for allegedly sexually harassing a 10-year-old girl. The incident has caused concern in the local community.
The girl, a resident of Ambattur, was alone at home on Saturday when her parents went out. During this time, the house owner allegedly subjected her to sexual harassment.
Upon their return in the evening, the girl tearfully recounted the incident to her parents. Her parents immediately filed a complaint with the police.
Police registered a case under the POCSO Act and arrested the house owner, who is a lawyer. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
