Narasimha Reddy, a 56-year-old life convict who had evaded authorities for nearly seven years after his parole ended, was arrested by Parappana Agrahara police in Anantapur district.
Reddy, originally from Andhra Pradesh, had secured a 30-day parole in November 2019, citing his mother's illness. He subsequently failed to report back to Bengaluru Central Prison once the parole period concluded.
Police officials stated that Reddy was initially taken into custody by Pavagada police in 2013, along with four other individuals. They faced charges related to dacoity, the murder of a house owner, and the theft of gold ornaments.
In 2015, the Madhugiri court found Reddy guilty in the case and handed down a life imprisonment sentence. He had been incarcerated at Bengaluru Central Prison prior to his parole.
