A lottery will be conducted on Thursday for the allocation of remaining liquor shops in Visakhapatnam district, Andhrajyothy reported. This process is significant for liquor traders in the district.

Out of a total of 158 liquor shops in the district, traders renewed 107 shops in September, according to Andhrajyothy. This indicates the number of shops that remained unallocated.

Andhrajyothy stated that 51 shop owners did not renew their licenses, and one shop was not auctioned previously. This led to the invitation for new applications.

Applications were invited for the operation of a total of 52 shops, Andhrajyothy reported. However, only 47 shops received four or more applications.

The deadline for submitting applications was until Wednesday, Andhrajyothy mentioned. The lottery process will commence after this deadline.

This lottery process will determine the allocation of new licenses in the liquor business sector of Visakhapatnam district, impacting the local economy.
