The Telangana Standards Authority for Food and Essential Drugs (TG SAFE) conducted inspections at Sahil Foods' manufacturing units in Premavatipet, near Katedan area of Hyderabad, on October 19. The inspections revealed multiple food safety violations.
Enforcement teams inspected five manufacturing units of Sahil Foods, a company involved in the manufacture and sale of snacks and savouries. During these operations, authorities seized 55 tonnes of mislabelled food products.
The seized mislabelled food products are valued at ₹33.94 lakh. Officials stated that the products lacked proper labelling and violated food safety standards.
TG SAFE officials confirmed that further action would be taken against Sahil Foods for violating food safety regulations. They added that surveillance would continue on such products that could harm public health.
