An accident occurred during Bathukamma celebrations at MVSR Engineering College in Nadargul, Ranga Reddy district, resulting in the death of student Soni and serious injuries to another student, Meena. MLC Dasoju Sravan stated that the incident was due to the negligence of the management and lack of safety measures.

Sravan alleged that no fire safety, crowd control, or emergency medical facilities were arranged for the event, which was attended by thousands of people. He also stated that the program was conducted without police and municipal permissions.

Sravan criticized educational institutions for turning education into entertainment and business, playing with students' lives, calling it an unforgivable crime. He expressed anguish that poor families, who struggle to educate their children, have suffered irreparable injustice.

MLC Dasoju Sravan demanded an immediate, impartial high-level inquiry by an IAS or IPS officer into the incident. He urged Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to ensure that non-bailable cases are registered under strict BNS sections against the college correspondent, principal, and organizers responsible for the accident, and that they are arrested immediately.

Sravan also demanded that the family of the deceased student receive Rs. 1 crore compensation from college funds, in addition to government ex-gratia. He requested that the injured student be provided free medical treatment at a corporate hospital.
