The Southwest Monsoon, which brought widespread rains across the country for nearly four months, is now rapidly retreating, Oneindia Telugu reported. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) announced that the monsoon withdrawal process has entered a new phase with the beginning of October, according to the same report.

As the monsoon withdraws from North and Central India, dry weather is setting in there. However, the intensity of rains continues in the southern and northeastern states, Oneindia Telugu stated.

Favorable conditions have emerged for the complete withdrawal of the monsoon from Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand in the next 24 hours, Oneindia Telugu reported.

In addition to these, the monsoon is also expected to retreat from most parts of Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh, as well as some parts of Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, and Maharashtra, Oneindia Telugu reported.

Oneindia Telugu also mentioned that there might be muggy mornings followed by evening rains, indicating significant weather changes in the next 24 hours.

Despite the ongoing monsoon retreat, residents in southern states like Andhra Pradesh and Telangana should remain vigilant as rainfall is expected to continue. This will impact agricultural activities and daily life in these regions.
