The National Saras Aajeevika Mela 2026 is scheduled to begin on October 15 at Punnami Ghat in Vijayawada. President Droupadi Murmu will formally inaugurate this prestigious event.
This marks the first time a national event of this scale is being held outside the Delhi-NCR region. The fair is organized in collaboration with the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihood Mission (DAY-NRLM) and the Andhra Pradesh Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty (SERP).
Approximately 1,000 women entrepreneurs and artisans from 34 states and Union Territories are participating in the fair. Over 650 stalls have been set up to showcase traditional handlooms, handicrafts, organic goods, and household products.
During the event, the Lakhpati Didi Compendium and the SARAS Shakti Application will be officially launched in the presence of President Murmu and Union Minister for Rural Development Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
This mela offers a significant opportunity for women entrepreneurs in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to display their products, explore new markets, and achieve economic empowerment. It also brings national recognition to local products and craftsmanship.
