The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted raids in Punjab, leading to the arrest of Baljit Singh in connection with suspected extremist networks.

The NIA has made allegations that Baljit Singh is associated with fundamentalist organizations. However, a family member has denied these claims, stating that Baljit was involved in helping people in need.

This operation is part of a series of actions by the NIA targeting suspected extremist groups across Punjab. Last May, the agency searched 15 locations in Gurdaspur, Batala, Amritsar, and Kapurthala.

Those earlier searches were part of an investigation into suspected Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) networks, which were linked to grenade attacks in the region. In September of last year, the NIA also recovered three hand grenades and three detonators during a separate operation.
