The Southwest Monsoon, which brought widespread rainfall across India for four months, officially concluded on October 15. This marks a shift in the country's weather patterns.
With the complete withdrawal of the Southwest Monsoon, the Northeast Monsoon has now arrived to bring rains to South India. This period is often called the 'second rainy season' for the southern peninsula.
While other parts of the country typically experience sunny and dry weather during this time, South India receives rainfall due to the influence of the Northeast Monsoon.
According to the Meteorological Department's forecasts, the southern peninsula will receive widespread rainfall until October 21.
