Vigilance and Enforcement, along with Civil Supplies Department officials, conducted surprise inspections at two major rice mills in Nagarkurnool district. These checks revealed that thousands of tonnes of government paddy, designated for Custom Milling Rice (CMR), had been illegally diverted to open markets.

During the inspections, officials found a shortage of 12,530 metric tonnes of paddy stocks, valued at Rs 29.27 crore. This discovery has caused considerable discussion across the district.

Officials stated that government paddy, intended for collection from farmers and distribution to the poor, is instead being siphoned off by fraudsters. They also identified that 94,000 bags of paddy were missing in the Mantati area.

Vigilance and Civil Supplies Department officials are conducting a thorough investigation into these irregularities. Authorities have affirmed that strict action will be taken against all individuals involved in the incident.
