Police in Visakhapatnam swiftly cracked the kidnapping case of retired Central GST Commissioner Anand Kumar. Acting on a complaint filed by his wife, authorities apprehended the suspects within hours.
A total of nine individuals have been taken into custody by the police in connection with the kidnapping. Among the accused, three are residents of Hyderabad.
Anand Kumar had served as the Central GST Visakhapatnam Audit Commissioner for two years. He retired from his service on July 31 of this year.
Following his retirement, Anand Kumar had vacated his residence in Oxygen Towers, Seethammadhara, with the intention of settling in Hyderabad.
The incident occurred on October 17, 2026, at 11:32 AM. The rapid response by the police led to the quick resolution of the case.
The arrested individuals are currently undergoing interrogation by the police. Further details regarding the case are expected to be released soon.
