Pulasa fish consistently command high demand in the Godavari districts. These fish are typically observed swimming upstream against the floodwaters of the Godavari River after June. Enthusiasts, captivated by their unique taste, are often willing to pay premium prices for them. In previous seasons, individual Pulasa fish have fetched prices ranging from Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 30,000. However, this year has seen a reduction in the availability of Pulasa fish.
The scarcity of Pulasa fish in the Godavari this season has led to stable, high prices. Up until recently, each fish was selling for over Rs. 20,000. Despite strong demand, the limited supply prevents any price reduction. Consequently, those who wish to enjoy Pulasa fish must contend with these elevated costs.
