Reliance Industries Executive Director Anant Ambani has announced a ₹1 lakh crore investment in Andhra Pradesh to build compressed biogas (CBG) plants. This massive investment links the conglomerate's clean-energy plans with the state's agricultural economy.
Speaking at the foundation stone-laying ceremony for the Rayalaseema Horticulture Hub and the Indian School of Agriculture in Madanapalle on October 2, Anant Ambani stated that Reliance aims to create a closer link between farmers and the country's energy transition.
The projects are expected to create more than 3 lakh jobs and generate nearly ₹60,000 crore in revenue for Andhra Pradesh over the coming decades. According to Livemint, this investment will make compressed biogas a major part of Reliance's planned activity in the state.
Ambani expressed that through Reliance’s green energy businesses, he sees an opportunity to help the 'Anna Daatas' (food providers) become 'Urja Daatas' (energy providers). Reliance Industries is grateful to the Government of Andhra Pradesh for this investment opportunity.
As reported by CNBC-TV18, this ₹1 lakh crore investment will have a significant impact on Reliance Industries, strengthening its presence and operations within the state.
For the people of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, these investments will create new job opportunities and pave the way for sustainable energy solutions in the agricultural sector, providing a significant boost to the regional economy.
