Vigilance officials confirmed irregularities at Sai Ram Rice Mill, located at Rampur Gate in Narva mandal, Narayanpet district. The findings emerged during an inspection conducted on Friday night.
Officials discovered discrepancies between the rice procured by the government from farmers between 2022 and 2025 and the stock currently held at the mill. These differences were found to be substantial.
The value of the diverted paddy is estimated by vigilance officials to be Rs 10.92 crore. A comprehensive investigation into these irregularities is underway.
Following the discovery, a complaint was immediately filed with the police, resulting in a criminal case being registered against the mill owner. Sub-Inspector Ramesh provided details regarding the case.
