The College of Aerospace Warfare in Secunderabad has reported a fraud of ₹8.83 lakh by a New Delhi-based vendor. The company received advance payments for vegetation clearance work but did not fulfill its contractual duties.
A wing commander from the college filed a complaint with the cyber crime police on Thursday evening. Police have since registered a case and begun an investigation.
The college had awarded a ₹54.8 lakh contract for vegetation clearance to Pinakine Secure Security Solutions on June 5. This contract was facilitated through the Government e-Marketplace.
The Air Force Public Fund made two advance payments to the vendor. Each payment, amounting to ₹4,41,720, was transferred to the company’s bank account in New Delhi.
Police have registered a cheating case against unknown offenders. The case falls under Section 318(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and further investigation is underway.
