A large quantity of silver offered by devotees to Simhachalam Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy has been transported to the government mint in Hyderabad. According to AP7AM, this silver is estimated to be worth approximately Rs 23 crore.
A total of 1,182.846 kilograms of silver, received from devotees since 2019, has been sent for this process. Temple officials had sealed this silver, which was stored in iron boxes within the temple premises.
Temple authorities have decided to melt this silver and purchase gold bonds. As per AP7AM, this is a crucial decision aimed at more efficient management of temple funds.
The Srikalahasti temple has requested 500 kilograms of silver for plating work, AP7AM reported. The process of converting this silver into bricks will take place at the government mint in Hyderabad.
This initiative is expected to generate significant revenue for the temple. By converting the silver offerings into a financially viable investment, it will contribute to the temple's development.
This is important news for devotees in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, as it reflects transparency and modern approaches in the financial management of the renowned Simhachalam temple.
