The Singur reservoir, a primary drinking water source for several parts of Hyderabad, has only enough water for 23 days as of October 17.

At current supply levels, the reservoir can provide water until November 9, officials said.

Following this, emergency pumping from the reservoir’s dead storage level could extend water supplies until December 10.

The Singur reservoir, along with the Manjeera barrage, supplies water to the western sections of the Greater Hyderabad area, including some interior areas like Khairatabad.

Under the Mission Bhagiratha scheme, the reservoir also serves several urban local bodies and 2,395 rural habitations, providing them with drinking water.

The reservoir's water levels are a concern for the drinking water supply in Hyderabad and surrounding regions.
